There are people who would eat pizza and focaccia every day if they could. In fact, some of us have learned to cook it directly at home, to be able to enjoy it at any time of the day. Here, for example, is the recipe for the simple and quick Apulian focaccia d’oro that will drive everyone crazy.
However, in general, when it comes to pizza and focaccia, many think of doughs with demanding processing and long leavening. In reality, however, this is not always the case. In fact, there are simple and quick techniques that would allow us to bring soft and genuine bread products to the table.
One of the best examples is the stuffed scones that we will prepare together shortly. When we say that these buns are lightning fast, we are telling the truth. To prepare them, in fact, we will need a few minutes and only 4 ingredients: flour, salt, water and a splash of oil.
We measure 350 grams of flour and pour everything into a large bowl. Next, we add half a teaspoon of salt and 200 milliliters of water at room temperature. Finally, add 2 tablespoons of oil and mix all the ingredients.
At this point we take the dough and transfer it to a surface, to work it with our hands. The heat of the fingers and the fingertips will allow us to knead better, creating a soft and smooth dough.
Now put the dough in a bowl, cover it with a cloth and let it rest for at least 40 minutes.

Now we are going to take our dough and spread it on a work surface, using a rolling pin. At this point we take a cup or a glass and make some circles of pasta. The latter will become our scones.
We can cook these scones in 2 ways. In the oven, simply place these scones in a lined pan, pierce the scones, and bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes, turning halfway through baking.
Otherwise, we can cook them in a non-stick pan (previously greased with oil), cooking them on both sides for a few minutes. When they are cooked, we can cut them in half and spread a slice of fontina, a slice of laminated salami and some fresh arugula inside each one. These ultra-quick yeast free scones are going to become one of our all-time favorite recipes.
