Matt Fitzpatrick: US Open winner’s just last Sheffield celebrity

In fact, the city has dozens of celebrities who have brought home gold.

They include double Olympians, winners of international tournaments and number one in the world in everything from squash to cricket.

In fact, with Matt Fitzpatrick, the Hallamshire Golf Club now has at least four world-renowned names on its honorary list, including father and son Percy and Peter Alliss, as well as Alison Nicholas.

Some of the UK’s most famous Olympians have been announced by Sheffield, including World Track and Field President Lord Sebastian Coe and Heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill.

And the city has two English cricket captains under its banner, Michael Vaughan and Joe Root, who was recently named the number one batsman in the world.
