Jimmy Fallon fails to chug beer at rowdy Rangers game

Beer, 1 — Jimmy Fallon, 0. The talk show host was the center of attention during Thursday night’s Rangers game as the team took on the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. In a now-viral clip on social media, “The Tonight Show” funnyman was seen frantically scoffing down a hot dog after dunking it in his drink in front of a rowdy crowd at Madison Square Garden.

He then savagely shoved the bread bun in his face before attempting to wash the mess down with a cold beer. Fallon’s chugging efforts did come under scrutiny, though, as the comedian managed to miss his mouth while fans cheered on. After his woeful attempt, one fan couldn’t help himself and rubbed Fallon’s head in excitement.

Accepting defeat, Fallon was later spotted in the stands with a Rangers jersey on after swapping his beer-stained sweater for something more appropriate. Fans on social media couldn’t contain their laughter as they rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts on the comedian’s fun night out. “That’s how you know someone has money. Dude just dumped 40 bucks on the ground,” tweeted one amused fan. Another noted, “He was destroying that glizzy.”

“Dipping a glizzy in your beer & stuffing it in your mouth is wild behavior,” a third tweeted. It wasn’t just Fallon who was defeated last night. Unfortunately for Rangers fans, the team lost 3-1 to Lightning in the grueling battle for a spot in the Stanley Cup Final.

Shortly after the game, fists began flying as Bolts captain Steven Stamkos and Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere jawed at one another behind Igor Shesterkin’s net before dropping the gloves. The pair received fighting majors on the scoresheet for their troubles.
